Six Stages, One Path to Water Safety

Getting comfortable in the water

  • Swim about 10m on the front and 5m on the back
  • Hold a calm float for 5 seconds, then stand back up
  • Learn safe ways to enter and exit the pool

Heading: Moving with more control

  • Swim 25m continuously without stopping
  • Scull or tread water for 30 seconds
  • Practise unassisted entries and deeper-water comfort

Heading: Building real strokes

  • Swim all four major strokes, 25m each
  • Scull or tread water for 50 seconds
  • Early personal-safety and rescue awareness
