Six Stages, One Path to Water Safety
Getting comfortable in the water
- Swim about 10m on the front and 5m on the back
- Hold a calm float for 5 seconds, then stand back up
- Learn safe ways to enter and exit the pool
Heading: Moving with more control
- Swim 25m continuously without stopping
- Scull or tread water for 30 seconds
- Practise unassisted entries and deeper-water comfort
Heading: Building real strokes
- Swim all four major strokes, 25m each
- Scull or tread water for 50 seconds
- Early personal-safety and rescue awareness
